Did you know Fairfax County has a program offering free income tax preparation if you or your family earned less than $56,000 in 2019? The program is called VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) and is staffed by qualified volunteers who will work with you to prepare your tax return online and file it electronically for you. They will ensure you receive the maximum tax refund and help determine if you are eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).
There are multiple sites throughout the county. Click here for more information (including a list of documents to bring, and hours and other locations). Bring a copy of your 2018 tax return also.

Susan Kousek, a member of USE, will be one of the volunteers at the Reston site on Saturday mornings, January 25 and throughout February. If you have any questions about the program, feel free to email her at restonusetimebank@gmail.com.
