The group was initiated last fall as part of USEcares. Over the past few months there have been a number of group walks as the weather and holidays would accommodate. Now that spring is just around the corner, the group is hoping to continue its weekly outings on a regular basis and encourage more USE members to get involved.

With that in mind, this announcement will be the first of many regular weekly notifications of where and when the walks will be held. The leader of the group selects the day, time and venue for the next walk. Over the past months, venues have included the trails at Lake Fairfax, Meadowlark Gardens, Lake Newport, Frying Pan Park, and the Walker Nature Center. Future walks will be scheduled in Reston and near-by areas. Walks are usually scheduled for not more than 90 minutes and less than two miles.

We urge you to make time for this healthy combination of companionship, exercise and nature in your life. Meet new friends, build community, and restore yourself.

To join the group, logon to hOurworld and select the “Members” menu tab. Under “Groups”, scroll down until you see the “Reston USE Walking Group” item and click on the “Join” button. You will then receive an e-mail each time a new walking event is scheduled.

For further information and when you plan to attend a scheduled group walking event, please contact Gail at restonusetimebank@gmail.com. If you have suggestions for great places to walk in the future, let Gail know.
